The Milos Forman Fund

Now in its fifth year of operation, the Milos Forman Fund remains the Film Division’s principal means of providing support for students. The fund is named after the chairman emeritus of the Film Division, whose devotion to narrative film and celebration of individual freedom have guided the division’s philosophy for the last two decades.

The money raised for the fund, an ongoing effort by the Film Division, not only provides supplemental assistance to the students in the form of postproduction “finishing funds” and screenplay scholarships, but also extends its reach in the form of development funds. This year we are seeing the excellent results of the division’s commitment to student production in several films: Linoleum by Gregor Clark, Misdemeanor by Jonathan LeMond, La Milpa by Patricia Riggen, vergiss mein nicht/against sadness by Sasha Kobow, Gunplay by Stefanie Berk, aquí iba el himno by Sergio Umansky, Night of the World by Johnny McAllister, and A Girl’s Guide to the Galaxy by Catherine Tingey.

The Film Division is grateful to the contributors who help to make the Milos Forman Fund a dynamic and effective way to honor, express, and extend the values of the extraordinary director for which it is named. Please make a donation bycalling (212) 854-7724.
