The Columbia University Film Festival is a showcase featuring some of the most talented emerging directors, screenwriters and producers in the world. This 22-year tradition continues with 8 nights of screenings, dramatic readings and events in New York and Los Angeles.
Our Festival is the annual premiere of thesis short films and feature screenplays created by graduate students at the Film Division of the School of the Arts at Columbia University in the City of New York.
Many of the films and screenplays in this year’s festival will go on to win awards at prestigious festivals worldwide, making the Festival an opportunity to discover some of the most exciting new work being produced anywhere.
In this year’s work, our MFA students explore a broad range of themes and topics. Their films were shot around the world using different technologies from 35 mm film to the latest digital formats. Each filmmaker’s vision and voice are unique, but all of the work reflects our program’s focus on narrative storytelling.
We look forward to seeing you at the 22nd Annual festival!
