21st Annual Columbia University Film Festival 2008
About the Festival

For the last 21 years, the Columbia University Film Festival has been showcasing some of the world's most talented emerging directors, screenwriters and producers. The tradition continues with this year's events—8 nights of screenings, dramatic readings and events in New York and Los Angeles.

Our Festival is the annual premiere of thesis short films and feature screenplays created by graduate students at the Film Division of the School of the Arts at Columbia University in the City of New York. This is your chance to discover some of the year's most exciting cinema, as the work in this year's festival will go on to win awards and recognition at prestigious festivals worldwide.

This year's work explores themes and topics as diverse as our MFA students. Shot in many countries around the world, using techniques from 35mm film to the latest digital technologies, the films reflect our program's focus on narrative storytelling—as filtered through the singular vision of each individual filmmaker.

We look forward to seeing you at the festival as we celebrate our 21st year!
