Directors Bio:
Yitz Brilliant is receiving his MFA from Columbia University Film Division, with a concentration in Directing, and is a recipient of the Jack Kent Cooke Fellowship. Yitz was awarded Faculty Honors in the 2006 Columbia Screenplay Competition for his feature script, The Pirates of Pinsk, a pirate comedy adventure. Most recently, Yitz's film The Kiddush Man, was selected to participate in Columbia's ASCAP film scoring workshop, and was awarded a Columbia Arts Initiative Gatsby Grant. A winner of Bantam Dell's first annual "Book Video Awards," Yitz was given the opportunity to directed the commercial trailer for the bestselling novel Stuart: A Life Backwards. Yitz and his project were featured in articles in The Hollywood Reporter and The New York Times. Yitz's last film, "Christ in the City" won "Best Short Film" at the Washington Jewish Film Festival, and has played in festivals internationally, including the DC Independent Film Festival, the Rome Independent Film Festival, and IFP's Buzz Cuts Showcase.
